Hello!
I'm so happy you are here. As of this past March, I officially have a new website: youngnwanderlust.com. I decided to take a leap and start working more seriously on my blog, and that platform gave me the capacity to do so. I will slowly be migrating my posts over there (with updates, of course!) and would be so happy if you followed along. Thank you for your support! XOXO, Amanda

Hello! Welcome back to my travel blog. I hope that you are doing well and that you had a good start to the new year. Many people try out vegan/vegetarian/plant-based diets in January (which is aptly nicknamed "Veganuary") so I decided to do a post about my favorite vegan food in Honolulu. I have always loved eating in Hawai‘i—from my grandma's cooking to my family's go-to restaurants, there is such a unique blend of Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Filipino, and Korean culture—but this is the first year that I've spent time here as a vegan, and I really enjoyed trying out new places. Here is my guide to vegan eating in Honolulu!
It has certainly been a trying year. As leisure travel sputtered to a halt because of the pandemic, I had more time to dream about places that I want to visit next – and this feeling of wanderlust provided a much-needed mental escape from the recent chaos and calamity. I last wrote a "Travel Bucket List" post in 2017 (when I was still in middle school!), so here is a new and improved version.
Hello, welcome back! Election Day is tomorrow (go vote!), and Thanksgiving and Christmas are finally within striking distance. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is food – I have so many memories tied to eating together at family meals, cooking with my parents or grandmother, and of course, trying new foods abroad. I haven't traveled since last Christmas, and I am definitely catching the travel bug! But, because COVID-19 is spiking and I'm trying to stay home as much as possible, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and remember the best foods I've ever eaten. All of these foods are free of dairy, eggs, nuts, and shellfish, but some may have meat as I only went vegan earlier this year. Hi there, welcome back! Happy October – I can't believe it's already fall. I've managed to hold back on the fall cooking until today (I made a vegan butternut squash, rosemary, and kale casserole tonight!), but I'm giving myself permission to go full-on pumpkin spice now :) It may not feel like fall in California (I'm looking at you, 90 degree weather!) but that doesn't mean that we can't do some fun activities. I took a quick day trip to Half Moon Bay with my mom last week, so keep reading to learn about what I recommend doing there! Happy Quarantine! I hope that you are staying safe and healthy. Although COVID-19 canceled my summer plans (I was going to spend 5 weeks at a journalism program near Chicago!) and any hopes of traveling in the near future, I've discovered some local places that have been wonderful to explore. I will admit that I'm not a connoisseur of the city – when you live here, you tend to avoid the more popular spots – but I've enjoyed becoming a tourist in my own area over the past few months. Keep reading for some tips and must-visit places in San Francisco, California! Hey there! Happy New Year! It's hard to believe that it's already almost 2020. This year has been full of ups and downs, but what I will remember most are the fun adventures that I embarked on and the incredible places that I was lucky enough to visit. 2019 provided me with the opportunity to visit Boston, North Carolina, Los Angeles/Anaheim, Singapore, Bali, Lake Tahoe, Carmel/Monterey, Sydney, and Hawai'i. In this post, I'll be talking about my trip to Sydney, Australia. Keep reading for some travel tips, highlights, and more! Hey there, welcome back! Today, I'm going to be talking about one of the prettiest spots in Northern California: Lake Tahoe. It is a 3 to 4 hour drive from San Francisco, depending on the traffic, which makes it a wonderful spot for a quick side trip if you are visiting the Bay Area. From picturesque lake views to mountains perfect for winter skiing, Tahoe is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Since I'm definitely a summer girl, I don't think I'm qualified to talk about winter things - thus, this post will be about some warm-weather Tahoe activities! Tahoe is colloquially divided into North and South Lake Tahoe, but there are some wonderful places to visit in between as well. Hi there, welcome back to my blog! This post will be a little bit different from what I normally do, but I'm excited for it all the same, because we're going to be talking about...food. Singapore is one of my favorite food cities because its local cuisine uniquely combines several different Asian styles. In addition, it's always easy to find a delicious bite at any time of the day. Keep reading to learn about my favorite dishes and to hear my tips on eating your way through Singapore. And side note: all of the foods that I mention below will be free of dairy, eggs, nuts, and shellfish - allergy life! Hello again, and welcome back to my travel blog! Before we begin, I have a quick announcement: I now have an Instagram account! Follow me at @youngnwanderlust for some cool travel photos, tips, and more! :) Today, I’m going to be giving you my guide to a Crazy Rich Asians themed adventure in Singapore. As you may know, the Hollywood film came out last summer, and it was filmed in the amazing city/country of Singapore. Keep reading to find about where some of the scenes were filmed as well as my recommendations for visiting the locations! |
